What will you do as a Lead Systems Engineer?
As a Lead Systems Engineer, you take ownership of the Systems Engineering approach across large, multidisciplinary technical projects. You ensure that requirements are clearly captured, managed and translated into well-founded design decisions. From tender phase to final delivery, you create structure, transparency and traceability.
You align expectations with clients and internal stakeholders, oversee V&V processes, and ensure effective use of SE tools such as requirement-management platforms. You guide teams in applying SE methods in a practical and consistent way, while keeping all project information organised, accessible and reliable.
Additionally, your responsibilities include:
- Designing and managing requirement structures and documentation;
- Translating customer needs into clear, verifiable design criteria;
- Setting up, monitoring and improving V&V processes;
- Applying and managing SE tooling (e.g. Relatics or similar platforms);
- Coordinating with multidisciplinary project teams and external partners;
- Guiding and coaching engineers in applying SE methods effectively;
- Contributing to standardisation, optimisation and continuous improvement of SE practices.
